Heliopolis and the Characters

So I thought I might pop on and tell you all about our pilot episode: Heliopolis. It shall be released as feature length script, and then later on, possibly as two seperate episodes. Well first off, the name of the episode, is for some reason, also the name of the base in which Legacy takes place at. Heliopolis is actually the city of Ra. The place where scholars, priests - The brains of ancient times would get together and share all their latest break throughs in the world of science. I must add that this Heliopolis has nothing to do with the one from The Torment of Tantalus since the castle shouldn't have called Heliopolis. The place had nothing to do with the Goa'uld. Heliopolis was actually ran by Thoth, who at the time of the facilities building, was an underlord to Ra.

I quite like the way all of the main characters are introduced. Wilks, our resident archeologist and team conscience is the first of the main characters introduced. We find him at the same location as the episode opens, a tomb in Egypt. One of our main characters is Hailey, someone we haven't seen since..Season5 of SG1. We haven't seen her in almost 3 years (Legacy takes place in Season8 of SG1), turns out she was involved in the Prometheus project all the time, that's where we find her. While we're onboard the Prometheus we are also introduced to our 3rd main character, a fella by the name of McKenzie. He's an F302 pilot, and a pretty good engineer at that.

Because I don't want to spoil too much, I'm just going to tell you about our next 2 characters, the final ones of SG5, our main team of the series. Lt. Colonel Hudson and Major Tooms. We meet them at the Alpha site, where they are in command of a one of the off-world teams over there. Hudson is a pretty interesting character, one who gets something down as she sees fit and as she wants. Toom is a more by the book fella.

Well, that's all I'm gonna tell ya for the moment. On a lighter side, we also have a couple of new writers. Kyle Weymark, who is writing 103, which has also had a title change from Labyrinths to Reverence. It has also had a few interesting story changes and is going to make quite a nice episode.

Well that's all for now. Keep tuned.

About Stargate Legacy

Well hello people. My name is Aaron Percival, I am a producer of SG Legacy and a writer. I thought we'd get a little bit of history out of the way first. Legacy started out as a machinima series, however that fell through and it was decided to turn it into a virtual series. It was good for us, as we'd already got a number of scripts written and most of the episodes planned out.

A virtual series? What's one of those I hear you screaming? A virtual series is like a fancy form of fanfiction. It is like a totally new spin-off (as the machinima would have been) but released as a novel or script based. For Legacy, the episodes will be released as script based.

The story of Legacy...well I think we need to talk about this. Set sometime in the middle of Season 8 of SG1, a dig in Egypt leads to the discovery of a Stargate address, one in our galaxy. An exploration team is mounted and set through the Stargate. What they find is an abandoned Goa'uld complex, called Heliopolis. It is decided to set up an off-world base in this complex to explore the unknown region of space the facility is located in.

The first season consists of around 22 episodes. Here are the episode names for the first five episodes:

1x01: Heliopolis
1x02: Heliopolis (part 2)
1x03: Labryinths
1x04: Lockdown
1x05: Torn Again

Of course, some episodes are going to be experiencing changes, Labyrinths most likely will recieve a full overhaul. We had a website for the machinima version but that will most likely be redesigned for the series. Be sure to keep coming back for more information.
